The International One Metre (IOM) World Championships 2024, a truly global event, has achieved a significant milestone by filling its entry list with 76 skippers worldwide.

This prestigious event, scheduled for October in Gladstone, Queensland, will witness fierce competition among participants from Argentina, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, the USA, and 12 Australian contenders.

ARYA President and current Australian Champion Sean Wallis expressed his excitement about the event, stating, "The IOM World Championships are a pinnacle event in the radio sailing calendar. I am thrilled to see such a strong international field competing in the beautiful city of Gladstone. This is a testament to the growing popularity and competitiveness of the IOM class."

Grant Cooper, Chairman of the ARYA World Championship Working Group, praised the generous support of the host city. "There were some quizzical looks in some circles when Gladstone was awarded host city status. However, this decision has been more than vindicated with a full field of international entrants plus the incredible financial support of local businesses, industry, and both local and state government, making it possible to hold an event of world standard in a city that has never hosted an international event before."

All six days of racing at the IOM World Championships 2024 will be professionally live-streamed worldwide. This will allow fans and supporters worldwide to witness the thrilling and close racing that Gladstone Marina has to offer.

The IOM World Championships 2024, a highly anticipated event, will showcase the best radio sailing talent from across the globe. Check out the comprehensive website, iomworlds.com, and stay updated with the handle @iomworlds24 on social media as the event draws closer. Be part of the excitement.
