Following last year's revelation of a ground-breaking prototype Highfield Boats is excited to announce that its brand new Highfield EJET330 electric jet tender is now in production.
Heralding a new era in electric boating, the EJET330 is a compact tender which stows easily into the garage of most large yachts over 55ft.
With its instant power it is incredibly responsive and great fun to manoeuvre. Underlying the fact that it zips around so quietly and smoothly, the Highfield EJET330 represents an important step forward in sustainability. With no propeller to worry about, the EJET330 is safe for the environment. It can be used in very shallow depths, skimming over the water's surface thus minimizing impact to fragile eco-systems. It is safe around swimmers and is easily beached.
The EJET330 is powered by an electric jet propulsion system, developed by ZeroJet, the New Zealand-based electric jet systems specialist. The technology and design is the result of two years of collaboration between the two companies, resulting in a boat that represents a combination of Highfield's performance and strength with ZeroJet's efficient and powerful electric system.
At 3.36 metres long, 1.82 metres wide, and with a 15° deadrise, the tender weights just 320kg total including battery, FCT console wheel steering and system. With no heavy outboard motor to worry about, the EJET330 features a 10.8kWh battery and 20kW of power, equivalent to 25hp. The boat will plane at 11 knots upwards and scoot along at an impressive 20 knots maximum. The super-safe Lithium Iron Phosphate 48V-10A low voltage battery will run for up to 7 hours. Charging can take as little as 2.5 hours depending on charger output. Electric jet boating is silent and of course with no fuel on board there is no odour.
Available in four colour options the Highfield EJET330 is designed to look good too. The robust Highfield alloy hull, which will carry up to five passengers, features Hypalon tubes, upholstery and deck tread. There's lots of internal storage including a bow locker while the deceptively efficient deck space belies its compact size, thanks in part to the integrated under-deck battery design and compact jet unit.
The EJET330 is so nimble and easy to drive, even for inexperienced users. It will literally turn 360 degrees on the spot. With its swim deck and ladder it's great for watersports and towing toys. Simply plug the battery in and go. There is a host of standard features including LCD display, electronic throttle, wheel and steering system, flush mount non-return valves, integrated transom supports, removable set lifting points and towing eyes, plus tow bridle points.
"The Highfield EJET330 is a result of many months of development combining Highfield's boat building experience with ZeroJet's electric jet propulsion, which was recognized with a DAME Award at METS 2023," comments Mathilde Delfour, Highfield's European Managing Director. She adds "We are proud to offer our very first electric jet tender and extend our range for new and fun types of boating!"
