OSSC members competed for The Scoles Trophy over the weekend of 6 and 7 July. The racing was set for the evening tide on Saturday and the morning tide on Sunday, allowing those from further afield to grab an overnight stay and get in both races.

The RO team for the Saturday race, Colin and Debs Hargreave, set a course making the most of the wind, which turned out to be considerably stronger on the race course than it was when launching. Nina Plumbe was an early returner, having broken her tiller extension. Alex Scoles (Europe) took line honours, followed by Pete Turner (OK) with Bernard Clark (OK) in 3rd.

Sunday's RO team of Camilla Warner and Catherine Goodley set the fleet off from the club line, and a slightly larger fleet, including Nina with new tiller extension, enjoyed super conditions for the race. Alex was once again 1st finisher, followed by Pete and then Nina.

Thanks to Alex Smith and Paul Beachall for safety cover on Saturday and Paul and Ben Goakes for safety cover on Sunday.

Overall Results:

1st Alex Scoles, Europe
2nd Peter Turner, OK
3rd Bernard Clark, OK
4th Nina Plumbe, Radial
5th Andrew Storer, Laser
6th Alex Smith & Paul, Beachell Sharpie
7th Rodney Tidd, OK

The club will welcome competitors for North West Norfolk week on Thursday 25 July (6 minute gun at 08.30) and will then host their Laser/ILCA Open meeting on Saturday 27 (6 minute gun 10am) and Sunday 28 July (6 minute gun 11am).
