The RS21 UK & Ireland Class is excited to announce its participation in Volvo Cork Week 2024, with the RS21 One Design Class making its debut at this renowned regatta from July 15th to 19th, 2024. Known as one of Europe's premier sailing events, Volvo Cork Week attracts sailors from around the world. The inclusion of the RS21 One Design Class highlights the event's commitment to offering varied and challenging racing opportunities.

Introduced in 2019, the RS21 has quickly gained popularity for its close, tactical racing and accessibility for sailors of all skill levels. The RS21 had a significant season in 2023, with 55 boats at the World Championships in Sardinia, a debut at Dun Laoghaire week, and growing fleets in the USA, Canada, Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

This year, Volvo Cork Week will also serve as Round 5 of the RS21 Cup for the RS21 UK & Ireland Class. The final round will be held at the UK National Championships in Dartmouth from August 15th to 18th. This Nationals Championships is the next opportunity to charter or try an RS21. Interested participants should email the RS21 Class Manager, Nick Redding, at

Wednesday sees the RS21 debut on the Harbour Course in Cork, spectators can expect closely contested races as crews compete in their own identical RS21 boats, ensuring a level playing field and intense competition. This class promotes camaraderie among sailors, who share the same equipment and learn from each other. Success on the racecourse is determined by the crew's skill and strategy rather than equipment differences.

Looking ahead, the 2024 RS21 World Championships in L'Escala, Girona, Spain, in late September are expected to set a new record for the class, further highlighting the RS21's growing prominence in competitive sailing.
