PRO-SET Epoxy OK class UK National Championships at Brixham Yacht Club - Day 3

by Jennie Clark 21 Jul 09:16 BST 18-21 July 2024

What a day! Two races in limited visibility and gusty winds certainly taxed the fleet (and race officer) today, with Charlie taking the first race after a tussle with a rapid Jim Downer and Nick taking the second from Jim.

The class AGM was held after racing, with a packed room providing plenty of discussion on rule changes, promoting the class and considering the programme for 2025. Karen Robertson was elected as Chair, with Gav Poulloin as Vice Chair. Simon Davies joins the Committee as Secretary. Out-going Chair, Richard Burton, was presented with a thank you gift for his service.

In the evening Brixham YC put on a great dinner for the class and a special presentation was made was held to out-going Secretary Mary Reddyhoff.

The yellow suit was won again by Kieran who is rapidly building the repertoire of stories all great OK sailors have. The hero of the day was the PRO, Peter Lytton, for getting racing going in fairly challenging conditions.

Daily prizes:

Standout Socks - Ed Bradburn
C-Monsta hanger - Simon Davies
Pot Luck (tow rope) - Jamie Morgan
