Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club is pleased to invite entry applications for the 2025 Warren Jones International Youth Regatta. Now in its 21st year, the event will take place from Monday, 27 January to Friday, 31 January 2025 and will be sailed in the Foundation 36 yachts.

The Warren Jones International Youth Regatta was founded in 2003 in the name of Warren Jones, a West Australian icon in the Sailing Community, and with a number of high profile previous winners and alumni alike, is renowned for being a pathway for young, aspiring yachtsmen and women to achieve their match racing goals by providing a platform for them to showcase their skills, launching them into the spotlight of the international circuit. High profile sailors such as Torvar Mirsky (AUS), Phil Robertson (NZL), Josh Junior (NZL), Chris Steele (NZL), Jalmer Van Beek (NED) and Sam & David Gilmour (AUS) to name a few, have been crowned winners of the event. A full list of previous winners can be viewed here.

The Warren Jones International Youth Regatta is a match racing event for under 25-year-old sailors. While the Club has long supported this regatta, 2025 will mark our first year hosting the event in its entirety. We are thrilled to take on this responsibility and eagerly anticipate welcoming local, interstate and overseas teams.

Situated between the river and ocean, the waters off Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club offer superb sailing conditions in protected and pristine sailing waters. This arena provides an ideal setting for thrilling short-course stadium style racing in the natural amphitheatre of Freshwater Bay, with excellent viewing for spectators from the elevated Clubhouse and grounds.

Our Club boasts excellent sailing and hospitality facilities, complemented by a skilled and experienced race management team. Our dedicated on-water staff is committed to delivering the event at the highest standard.

Up to 12 teams will be selected to compete upon the picturesque waterway of the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia. The event will be a Grade 3 event but after the selection of teams, the Club may reapply for retroactive re-grading depending on the quality of the invitees list.

The Notice of Race can be located on the Warren Jones Regatta Event Website: www.warrenjonesregatta.com.

Applications for Entry can be lodged via the link below with the closing deadline Friday, 4 October 2024: www.warrenjonesregatta.com/applicationforentry.
