The Multihull Cup will again be celebrating the exciting world of performance catamaran and trimaran sailing when the sixth edition gets under way in just a month's time.
With three days of racing from 27th to 29th September, Port Adriano's exclusive marina will again play host in the heart of Mallorca's eye-catching southwest coast, a great sailing area with a magnificent backdrop to the on-the-water action.
Organisers are looking forward to greeting two previous winners of the Multihull Cup, with both the 84' Nigel Irens designed flyer Allegra, who won in 2021, and the MC60 Dragon, back from Australia and aiming to repeat her 2019 victory, taking part once again.
It had been hoped the 2022 winner Coco de Mer would also be attending, but a delay in her refit has ruled her out.
However, joining the fleet in 2024 will be Highland Fling 18, with the 80-foot custom VPLP design maxi-multihull looking to build on her impressive form since her launch last year.
She and Allegra raced each other at last year's Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, with Adrian Keller's Swiss multi edging that contest, and will meet again at the 2024 Rolex Cup in early September — setting the scene for a third close encounter soon afterwards at Multihull Cup.
"The competition is looking interesting with friendly rivalries set to play out," said Multihull Cup Event Director Andrea Grimm. "Racing conditions in this part of Mallorca always present a great playing field, and Port Adriano will no doubt again be a fantastic host for the event."
The charming Coast by East venue in Port Adriano will be the focus of shoreside events, while North Sails and Rigging Projects are the highly valued sponsors.
Following registration on Thursday 26 September, racing gets under way on Friday and continues until Sunday 29 September, followed by the celebratory prize-giving.
