Bacardi continues to support young talented Star Class sailors in their pursuit of success with its Bacardi Cup U30 Program 2025.

The Bacardi Cup U30 Program, which launched in 2023, targets support to talented young sailors to pursue their racing ambitions at the renowned Bacardi Cup in Miami, USA. The program provides complimentary entry to the regatta and offers financial assistance to assist with event costs for a selected number of teams from around the world.

"Bacardi believes in ensuring its events are a place of opportunity and diversity, where young athletes from around the world can be given their chance to shine," said Eddie Cutillas, Bacardi USA.

"Our mission, together with the International Star Class, is to inspire and provide direct support to nurture young sailors," continued Cutillas. "Creating opportunities for the next generation has been a defining feature of our almost 100-year collaboration with sailing. Bacardi is committed to supporting young sailors in their journey to the top, and we want to be part of making their Star Class racing career possible."

Since the program's inception, Bacardi has supported numerous teams to compete at the Bacardi Cup from all over the world. Additionally, Bacardi extends its support beyond the Bacardi Cup itself, offering the top-placed U30 team with additional financial assistance to compete at the subsequent Star Class World Championship. The 2025 Star Class Worlds will take place from September 8-14 in Split, Croatia.

Come sail with us

The 98th Bacardi Cup will take place from March 2-8, 2025, at the Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami. Featuring a six-race series, the regatta is renowned for exhilarating racing and vibrant après-sail. The regatta attracts a remarkable mix of sailing legends, World Champions, Olympians and weekend sailors, set against the backdrop of Miami's warm spring weather, steady breeze and Bacardi's legendary hospitality.

Partnership with the Star Class

The Bacardi Cup U30 Program runs in synergy with the Star Education and Access (SEA) Program by Schoonmaker. The SEA Program loans a complete Star Class boat to facilitate the transition into the class. The program is aimed at experienced sailors new to the Star Class who will be racing multiple regattas or for teams from abroad participating in a one-off regatta in the USA. SEA by Schoonmaker launched its pilot program in 2024 in South Florida.
