In the men's competition, the 2024 GWA Wingfoil Wave World Champion is USA's Cash Berzolla, who has been the standout performer of the season after winning in Morocco earlier this month.

Despite a shock defeat in the quarter-finals in Ibiraquera, his previous results secured him the title before the competition had even finished. France's Malo Guénolé secured his second Tour win with an outstanding performance, scoring the highest heat total of the event with 17.10 points. He was up against fellow Frenchman Axel Gerard in the final. Despite Gerard's impressive efforts, Guénolé dominated wave after wave. In the mini-final, 15-year-old Anderson Gallagher (USA), competing in his first event, finished third, just ahead of Brazilian Gallagher Martins.

In the women's competition, Spain's Elena Moreno, who finished third in the event, has already been crowned the 2024 GWA Wingfoil Wave World Champion. She had clinched the title with two stunning wins at previous tour stops, ensuring she had enough points just before hitting the water in Brazil. Spain's Nia Suardiaz claimed her first wave competition victory of the year in an incredibly close and thrilling final against Dutchwomen Bowien van der Linden. Suardiaz narrowly won by just 0.01 points, with van der Linden finishing second.
