Cheetah Marine launches new catamaran with Yamaha Outboards and Helm Master Ex®

Long-standing Yamaha Motor UK partner, Cheetah Marine, has unveiled its latest vessel - the 11.2m x 3.7m Catamaran with Walkaround Wheelhouse, complete with twin F350 Yamaha Outboards and the advanced Helm Master EX® system.

Based in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, Cheetah Marine has drawn on its 35 years of boat-building expertise to design this new model, in a move that will see the boat manufacturer expand further into the commercial and marine tourism sectors.

The new customisable catamaran boasts a range of modern interior finishes and benefits, including spacious seating, air-conditioning, toilets, and a galley to support longer stretches out at sea; ideal for weekends exploring the coast.

Built for performance, the 11.2m catamaran can achieve speeds exceeding 40 knots and is built to withstand extensive operation in extreme weather conditions. It is also ideally suited for towing and pushing operations, making it a versatile option for various boating applications.

At the heart of this new model are Yamaha's twin F350 Outboards and its Helm Master EX® system. The F350, launched earlier this year, joins the expansive Yamaha Outboard family, offering impressive horsepower diversity, combined with Yamaha's renowned premium-level performance and reliability. The F350 also offers 20 per cent better fuel efficiency than its predecessor, alongside enhanced features and aesthetics and a superior power-to-weight ratio.

Yamaha's Helm Master EX® boat control system makes boat operations both easy and enjoyable with a sophisticated array of features. Specifically engineered for both single and multiple outboard setups, the system features a joystick with state-of-the-art software, enabling smoother shifting and easier navigation through confined spaces, such as marinas. Its single-function buttons and ergonomic design further simplify operations, making it accessible and enjoyable for all users.

The 11.2m catamaran is currently in operation as a 14-seater tour boat, commissioned by Ventor Bay Charters, providing tours around the Isle of Wight's beautiful south coast. Not only chartering public guided tours of the area, but also offering a private hire service and corporate packages.

Looking ahead, Cheetah Marine is planning to utilise the new model as a 'classroom on the sea', giving marine students the opportunity to learn out in the field; especially given that it is set-up to power a wide range of appliances at any given time, including laptops and tablets.
