The 2025 Australian Marine Industry Directory: Showcasing excellence in Australian Marine Innovation

by AIMEX 19 Nov 2024 06:48 GMT 19-21 November 2024

The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) and Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG) are pleased to announce the international release of the 2025 Australian Marine Industry Directory today at METSTRADE 2024, the world's largest marine equipment trade show.

As the definitive resource for Australia's export and commercial marine sectors, the annual publication showcases the nation's unmatched expertise, high-quality products, and innovative advancements that continue to drive growth and enhance Australia's global reputation in the marine industry. With a comprehensive overview of Australia's leading marine technologies, industry milestones, and the companies shaping the future of the sector, the Directory also includes an extensive A-Z listing of over 100 top Australian suppliers, connecting buyers and stakeholders worldwide with Australia's best marine products and services.

The 2025 Directory celebrates two outstanding Australian Marine Industry Award Winners: The Whiskey Project Group (TWPG), named the 2024 Australian Marine Industry Exporter of the Year, has earned a global reputation for designing and manufacturing specialised watercraft, with their flagship vessel 'Whiskey Bravo,' featured on the cover. Additionally, SCORKL, awarded the 2024 Australian Marine Industry Junior Exporter of the Year, is featured for their continued innovation in the equipment sector, with the launch of a world-first portable electric SCUBA compressor that extends underwater exploration time for users.

Highlighting the continued success of Australia's leading marine exporters, the Directory features an article on Riviera, one of the country's most prominent marine brands, as they reach a remarkable milestone with the launch of their 6000th vessel. With the premiere of their 58 Sport Motor Yacht at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Riviera's ongoing success demonstrates the global impact of Australian craftsmanship and innovation.

Equipment manufacturers covered in the Directory include the latest products from leading Australian innovators DAVCO with their newly released DAVCO Aqua Chocs; BirdBoss' new bird deterrent product delivering a reliable and easy-to-use bird control solution; and Launch & Retrieve Boat Latch's innovative system that enables effortless, single-handed launching and retrieval of vessels.

In commercial marine news, the Directory features TransDev NSW, who has recently taken delivery of two of the seven planned Parramatta River Class Ferries. Designed by Sydney-based InCat Crowther and built by Richardson Devine Marine in Tasmania, these ferries mark a significant development in Australia's commercial marine sector. This issue also covers Austal's commitment to using Capral's LocAl® lower-carbon aluminium, highlighting the industry's growing emphasis on sustainable and responsible procurement. Additionally, the Directory features Australia's recent Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the UAE, effective since September 2024, which provides tariff-free access for Australian marine products entering the UAE market, unlocking new growth opportunities in the region.

Exciting developments in Sydney's waterfront are reported, including the New Sydney Waterfront Company's ongoing efforts to transform Sydney's western harbour into a key marine hub. Their plans to designate the area as an official improvement district aim to enhance its status as a vital centre for marine activity.

The Directory announces that the second edition of the Australian Commercial Marine Conference has been confirmed for July 31, 2025, following the success of the inaugural event in August 2024. The first conference, which brought together 72 delegates from 42 marine businesses, set a new benchmark for the commercial marine sector. The upcoming conference is expected to build on this success, further advancing the industry's growth and fostering greater collaboration.

This year's annual feature on prominent figures in the Australian marine industry highlights Richard Chapman OAM. Celebrated as a pioneering leader and dedicated advocate, Richard is recognised for his exceptional contributions to the marine industry over the past 45 years.

Now available both in print and online as an E-book, the Directory remains a cornerstone in promoting Australian marine capabilities to a global audience.
