Vendée Globe Friday 17th January Update - Séb Simon completes Vendée Globe podium

by Mark Jardine 17 Jan 07:57 GMT 17 January 2025

French skipper Sébastien Simon crossed the Vendée Globe finish line in third place at 00:27 UTC on Friday January 17, after 67 days, 12 hours and 25 minutes of racing, finishing 2 days and 17 hours behind the overall winner.

We hear from Boris Herrmann who has secured his broken port foil on Malizia-Seaexplorer, and hear from Giancarlo Pedote on Prysmian in the South Atlantic where an interesting battle up the Brazilian coast is taking place.

We then look at the Tracker, Leaderboard and PredictWind routing options for Jérémie Beyou on Charal as the leading pack on the water head towards a North Atlantic storm.

We finish with an update from Oliver Heer on Tut Gut.
