2025 EUROSAF Race Officials Exchange Programme Meeting: 28 represented countries, 149 entered events

This year's EUROSAF Race Officials Exchange Programme Meeting took place in London, Great Britain.
EUROSAF and all European Race Officials' delegates gathered for their annual exchange meeting to allocate the spots for Race Officials at sailing events on the continent for 2025. Representatives from 28 European countries attended the meeting. All in all, 149 events in 27 member countries were entered, 219 spots to be filled. At the end of the meeting 116 of them were allocated, remaining spots are expected to be awarded in the next weeks.
Supporting programme
In the subsequent workshop, there was a lively exchange based on feedback from the delegates in order to support further development and expansion of the programme. Tom Rusbridge (RYA) introduced the GBR approach to EUROSAF ROEP, explaining the newly installed system for ROs joining the programme. Freya Mason and Nicole Ames, RYA shared their experiences as young ROs in the RO Academy. Andrés Pérez presented upcoming changes in the 2025-2028 Rules of World Sailing, which led to fruitful duscussions between the judges onsite. Finally, Niall McLeod (RYA) showcased used technologies from SailGP that support spectators and umpires in the digital age.

The next Race Officials Exchange Programme Meeting will take place in January 2026, which will be held in Murcia, Spain, in the location of the EUROSAF Sailing Academy.
