Bass Cat Boats, a leading manufacturer of tournament-ready, high-performance bass boats, has added veteran Bass Pro Tour competitor Luke Clausen to the company's national pro team, bolstering an already stout staff with one of the most accomplished pros to ever come out of the Pacific Northwest.

Clausen is one of the elite handful of pros who've won both the Forrest Wood Cup and the Bassmaster Classic. He won the former on Alabama's Logan Martin in 2004, his first year on the FLW tour, and then won the latter 18 months later on Florida's Lake Toho. He's qualified for 10 Forrest Wood Cups, two Redcrests and four Bassmaster Classics, and has won nearly $3 million in his ongoing career.

"The quality of Bass Cat is second to none," he said. "We increasingly see boats on tour that don't hold together but Bass Cats have a long life. The quality of the build, and the people behind them, make them a tool that you can depend on over the course of a long and grueling season."

Bass Cat's Rick Pierce was thrilled to get a pro of Clausen's talent and impeccable reputation into one of his boats: "Luke's accomplishments speak for themselves," he said. "But we wanted to partner with him not just for his past achievements, but for what we expect him to do in the future. He got his start in the sport early, so he's a young 45, with lots of tread left on the tires, and he continues to prove that he's one of the most adaptable anglers around."

Clausen will run a Puma STS on tour in 2025. He raved about the boat's rough water ride and speed, but said that it's fishability puts it over the top.

"It's incredible stable and has a wide body," he explained. "I like that extra room to have a lot of rods out on the deck. That was the biggest determining factor, what it does when the trolling motor is down. All of the Bass Cats are pretty fast, and with a Mercury 250 Pro XS on the back I'll optimize performance, but it's the complete package and a better choice for me than anything else on the market."
