Roadford Lake Sailing Club Winter Series - Overall

by Richard Willows 3 Apr 09:34 BST

The Roadford Lake Sailing Club winter series finished last Sunday (30 March 2025) in sparkling conditions, the final two races won by local sailor Norman Halstead in his Supernova.

Numbers for the series, with 23 entries in total, were boosted by the arrival of 13 ICLAs from Saltash sailing club from early October.

Bad weather restricted the sailing days post Christmas, but on the days possible, great racing was held with two races back to back each day. A full lake gave steadier winds and some excellent long courses.

The Club also held a round of the Sailing SW Winter Series on March 2nd, aided by a race team from the series organisers, with numbers perhaps put off by the light wind forecast, but two races held in glorious sunshine.

The Club is very grateful to the Roadford Lake Watersports Centre for rescue provision, and general support, and providing an excellent winter discount to encourage visiting sailors, and we hope more will come another year.

Results:

1st Paul Rogers, ICLA 6
2nd Liam McGrath, K1
3rd Neil Trathen, ICLA 7
4th James Collingwood, ICLA 7
