The 36th annual Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta started today with clear blue skies and a 15-18 knot easterly breeze. A record entry of twelve boats signed up for the Single Handed Race held this morning.

Bernie Wong on Huey Too (modified Cal 40 built in 1967 and under his ownership since 1982) said of his boat "She's my baby, part of the family". He also said he found the new triangle course to be challenging and exciting with the beat to windward at the end. The racing in the Modern Classics class was close with Huey Too beating Absolute Properties (Blue Peter) by only 24 seconds on corrected time. Petrana won the Large Classics class, Rita the Small Classics and Freya the Spirit of Tradition.

The full results can be seen here with the prize-giving taking place on Monday evening at the main awards ceremony.

Concourse D'Elegance judging took place in the afternoon and the results will be given out on Monday evening at the main prize-giving ceremony.

The Welcome Party will be held tonight at Boom restaurant, and racing for the whole fleet will start tomorrow at 10am with the Old Road Course. Looking forward to another wonderful classics regatta in Antigua.
