The Osprey Class Association would like to see their Class Boat, one of the latest Mark 6 Ospreys by Hartley Boats, competing in the Sailjuice or other multi-class events over the winter, and invite any teams interested in borrowing the boat to contact them.

The Class Boat is Osprey sail number 1385, one of the latest boats built by Hartley Boats. It is equipped with all the latest gear and the layout that has been developed by Hartley Boats with input from several of the Osprey Class's most successful teams. The carbon, raking rig is matched with Hartley Boat sails that have proved very fast within the Osprey fleet.

1385 named Six Pack was built for the start of the 2024 season to replace the previous Osprey Class Boat sail number 1360 Blood & Thunder. 1360 has been sailed to third place in the Osprey National Championships at Tenby in 2021 and fifth place at Porthpean in 2022. In the hands of Peter Gray and Geoff Edwards it won the Sailjuice Series in 2022/2023. It has competed and acquitted itself well in a number of other events, including the 2023 Osprey Round the Isle of Wight race.

1360 was borrowed by a number of teams for club and open meeting racing and as a result new teams have bought boats and entered the fleet. 1360 itself was sold and is now residing in the North East.

The Class Association objective with 1385 is to encourage younger sailors to experience single trapeze symmetric spinnaker sailing within a very friendly and sociable fleet. The Association will be launching a search for a suitable youth team to take the boat to the 2026 National Championships at Mounts Bay. A similar successful scheme in 2023 resulted in a good youth turnout at both the 2023 and 2024 Championships.

1385 was sailed to a top ten finish at the 2024 Championships and has also competed at several open meetings and the very windy 2025 National Championships at Mumbles. Recently it has competed at Federation Cup week in Chichester Harbour and in the Osprey Class South East tour.

An application form and loan agreement for the Class Boat can be found on the Osprey Class website ospreysailing.org.uk or by email to .

We look forward to hearing from you.
