Further to the Liverpool Yacht Club press report submitted three weeks ago I am delighted to inform you that Tranmere Sailing Club has now also approved the formation of the Alliance with LYC. TSC voted on the motion at their AGM last Wednesday Dec 19th. The vote was 32 in favour and 3 against.
Consequently LYC and TSC Members are now automatically members of the other club with immediate effect.
During the first months of 2008 the management Committees of both clubs will be working together with the objective of forming a single management team that will manage both clubs e.g. The Commodore of LYC will also be the Commodore of TSC etc.
The combined membership of the two clubs is approximately 500. Both clubs will retain their current headquarters, as this is appropriate to their sailing activities etc. With bases on both sides of the river and water access from both the marina and the Rock Ferry slipway it is expected that the two clubs will be able improved facilities and opportunities to members of both clubs.
