As has been usual over the past few years the racing at Setley Pond on Boxing Day was very closely contested.
There was a very light South Westerly which although from a good direction, often dropped to zero, making for tricky sailing. This year there were a very similar number of entries in both the monohull and multihull categories; 15 monohulls and 18 multihulls making it to the start line.
Five races were completed with one discard. The top two monohulls; “Robyn” sailed by Connie Stock, with three firsts, just pipping “Robber” sailed by Jamie Jardine with two firsts for the Setley Cup, with “Artmis” sailed by Hattie Rogers taking third overall.
In the multihull class, “Rascal” sailed by George Russell, one of the very youngest competitors, won the Seahorse Trophy with three race wins from “Maxicat” sailed by Arabella Jardine. “Pink Panther” sailed by Ben Baton finished in third place.
Once again thanks to the volunteer recorder, Jane Pitt-Pitts and the finishing team of Robin Markes and Ado Jardine.
