A dream come true

The weathermen said it was a grey, wet and windy day, but for Paul O’Neill it couldn’t have been a brighter day if the sun was shining and the skies blue. He was travelling down from Castle Semple in Scotland to collect his prize from Speed Sails.
As Paul stood holding the winning raffle ticket it was still hard to believe that he was the proud winner of a brand new GP14.
Paul, who has aptly named his new boat "The Golden Ticket", couldn’t stop smiling as he admired the prize generously donated by Richard Estaugh of Speed Sails in association with Super Spars and Harken. The prize boat comes ready to race, complete with combi-trailer and covers.
Paul is now looking forward to getting on the water in his new boat and plans to improve his sailing skills on the Training Weekend (26th/27th April) at Castle Semple before competing in the Scottish Championship at Annandale SC on 3th/4th May. He is also among those who have already entered for the GP14 World Championship at South Caernarvonshire YC in Abersoch, North Wales being held this summer between 2nd and 8th August.
Ian Sinclair, a Vice-President of the GP14 Class International Association, was on-hand to congratulate Paul and spoke for all of us when he said that GP14 14000 was going to a deserving home and he hopes that it will help to boost GP14 sailing activity at Castle Semple SC and at other clubs around Scotland.
