Plymouth RS800 Grand Prix event cancelled, Eastbourne Sovereign step in

by RS Class Association 18 Jul 2013 11:59 BST 20-21 July 2013

With many apologies for any inconvenience, the Plymouth RS800 Grand Prix event cancelled. This is due to Plymouth City Council just confirming to the club that all boats and cars would have to pay £12/day for parking, taking the event to an unacceptable entry fee of £75/boat.

All is not lost however.

Eastbourne Sovereign Sailing Club have stepped in, and invited boats to an open event there instead this weekend. Here are the details:

  • Free sailing on Saturday afternoon 1200 - 1600hrs
  • Club racing on Sunday. Three races with a break for lunch. Start 1100hrs.
Free for those that have already entered the Nationals. For those that haven't - £10 per day, £15 for the weekend.

You can leave your boat at the club for the Nationals, which starts on 8th August.

Contact Mick Whitmore on for further information, and to confirm if you are planning to come along.

Please enter the Nationals now (you can pay later). Lots of information and entry form at www.rs800.org/champs/cindex.asp?eid=528
