The Phantom Class Association is very pleased to announce that Selden Masts are supporting the launch of the Phantom Grand Prix Series supplying hardware as prizes and a new oval carbon boom to be raffled during the year.
The boom is widely used within the fleet and will be awarded at the last event where tickets will be awarded equal to the number of 'Travellers Points' gained by class members during the year by attending any of the eight Grand Prix events, so the more events you do the more chance you have of winning. The full list of events and the number of 'Travellers Points' available at each event are:
- 11-12 April (1 point) Leigh & Lowton
- 30-31 May (1 point) Creaksea
- 27-28 June (2 points) Filey
- 11-12 July (2 points) Weymouth Regatta
- 18-19 July (1 point) Walton & Frinton
- 4-6 September (3 points) Nationals @ Minnis Bay
- 4 October (1 point) Bartley
- 14-15 November (2 points) Inlands @ Ovington Inland Championships
Large fleets are expected at each event and they complement the existing regional open programme so you should expect close racing, a friendly and helpful fleet coupled with a great social. The events are aimed at providing close racing throughout the fleet and will attract a mix of abilities to suit if you are new to the fleet or a seasoned campaigner.
Dave Hayes from Seldén Mast commented, "Seldén have had a connection with the Phantom fleet for some time so we are pleased to support the Phantom Grand Prix Series and hope that everybody who takes part enjoys the year".
