by Ian Sullivan 31 Mar 2015 15:36 BST 31 March 2015

The Phantom Class Association are very pleased to announce that Spinlock are supporting the launch of the Grand Prix Series supplying Wing PFD's, Deckpack and Knee Pads for prizes. The PFD's are being branded with the Phantom Grand Prix logo and will be awarded during the year as Members reach six 'Travellers Points'.

The first of the Grand Prix events takes place at Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club near Manchester on 11 and 12 April. The event comprises training on Saturday morning followed by racing in the afternoon and on Sunday and secures One Travellers Point so only five more needed to reach the 'Spinlock Award'.

Large fleets are expected at each event and they complement the existing regional open programme so you should expect close racing, a friendly and helpful fleet coupled with a great social. The events are aimed at providing close racing throughout the fleet and will attract a mix of abilities to suit if you are new to the fleet or a seasoned campaigner. The remaining events and their Traveller Points are:

  • 11-12 April (1 point) Leigh & Lowton
  • 30-31 May (1 point) Creaksea
  • 27-28 June (2 points) Filey
  • 11-12 July (2 points) Weymouth Regatta
  • 18-19 July (1 point) Walton & Frinton
  • 4-6 September (3 points) Nationals @ Minnis Bay
  • 4 October (1 point) Bartley
  • 14-15 November (2 points) Inlands @ Ovington Inland Championships
