Building on the success of the first two years, the Lymington Dinghy Regatta will welcome visitors and local boats on 18th and 19th July. Two courses, eight class starts and three races scheduled each day in the Solent should make for a great weekend of racing. But the main reason people come to the Lymington Dinghy Regatta is the legendary tea and doughnuts after racing, and there will be more than ever this year.
Lymington has the biggest RS Aero fleet in the country and lots of RS400s, and is keen to welcome Blazes, Fireflys, RS500s, RS800s, Scows and any dinghies in the Portsmouth Yardstick fleets.
The regatta, which is hosted jointly by the Lymington Town Sailing Club and Royal Lymington Yacht Club, nearly hit its 120-boat entry limit last year. So sign up early to get a discount on the entry fees and a chance to win a bottle of Champagne. Entry fees can be paid on the day and are refundable if the regatta is cancelled. The notice of race and entry form will be published soon on both clubs' websites.
