21-26 August 2015
The Royal Torbay Yacht Club are once again hosting a major sailing regatta forming an integral part of the Torbay Royal Regatta and running from Friday 21st to Wednesday 26th August.
The English Riviera is a great place to be in August and you can be sure of a warm welcome, cordial hospitality and great shoreside entertainment featuring Fireworks and the ever spectacular Red Arrows Display.
The regatta will offer competitive racing over four days Saturday to Tuesday with classes for IRC yachts, Unrated Cruisers, Sportsboats, Junior Dinghies, Asymmetric and Non Asymmetric Dinghies and followed by the Royal Regatta Anniversary Challenge Cup Pursuit Race for all classes on Wednesday 26th August.
Already signed up are the RS500's for their National Championships and the club welcomes enquiries from class associations looking for a venue for their National, Regional or other championships.
2015 will see the launch of the UK Sportsboat Gold Cup, believed to be the first event of it type and will be open all Sportsboats holding an IRC certificate or an IRC single event rating and meeting specified criteria (full details will be found in the Notice of Race)
Over many years the Royal Torbay Yacht Club has gained a well deserved reputation hosting numerous regattas and championships, the 2015 Royal Regatta promises to be another great occasion.
Details of the event available from both the Royal Torbay Yacht Club website www.rtyc.org and the Torbay Royal Regatta website www.torbayroyalregatta.co.uk
