30th Junior 12 Hour Race at Southport Sailing Club - Preview

This Saturday marks the 30th Southport Sailing Club Junior 12 Hour Race. Starting at 08:00, the event is open to Enterprise, GP14 and Bosun dinghies helmed by Juniors under 20. Over the years we have had entries from many different clubs, providing teams of 4-20 juniors to race on the relatively safe waters at Southport. Indeed this year's PRO has entered the race previously around 10 times as a junior.

The race also has smaller time trial races run within the main event. These include fastest laps at certain times, fastest female helm and fastest under 14 helm. There is also a separate trophy for those teams wholly comprising of under 18 year old teams, along with class prizes the three classes eligible.

Budworth SC team win On the 30th June, a team of seven youths from Budworth made up one of 23 boats who descended on Southport to compete for the title at this year's junior 12 hour race. North West Top Helm event On Sunday the 5th of November, 10 Enterprises arrived at a very sunny Southport for the North West Top Helm event.
