Navionics has become the latest organisation to join the RYA's stable of member reward partners, offering exclusive discounts to RYA members.

Thanks to the new partnership RYA members can now enjoy up to 15% discount on Navionics electronic chart updates for chartplotters. (10% discount for Personal Members, 15% discount for Gold and Instructor Members).

Lance Godefroy, General Manager of Navionics UK commented: "Navionics are delighted to partner with the RYA to provide this new RYA Membership Benefit through our dealer network which gives a discount on Navionics chart updates and PC Navigation Planner. With ever changing conditions, such as wind-farm development, new buoyage, traffic separation zones, new breakwaters etc., it's essential to keep your chart up to date.

"Saving members up to £30, they will receive a new media card, be entitled to change area or format, and will then automatically benefit from Navionics' unique update programme which gives a further year of free downloadable updates. If you are new to Navionics, you can even use a competitor's card (SD/MSD format only) to get a new Navionics chart at half price!

"Launching in March means members receive maximum benefit for the boating season ahead." With Navionics' unique update programme RYA members also benefit from a further one year of free downloadable updates of Nautical Chart, SonarChart™ - the 0.5m HD bathymetry map, and Community Edits. As well as the update, members will have the option to change area and media type – and will also receive a new large capacity card capable of utilising the latest developments in chartplotter technology.

Navionics is devoted to continuously enhance their cartography; making around 2,000 updates to their Nautical Chart daily by integrating Notices to Mariners, new publications, their own surveys and reports from their users. Plus several thousand updates to SonarChart™ and Community Edits. SonarChart™ is the revolutionary 0.5m HD bathymetry map that includes crowd-sourced data.

The RYA member offer applies to Navionics full range of charts: Silver, Gold, Navionics+ and Platinum+ - or even an SD/MSD card from another brand. Members will receive a new card and card reader with the option to change media type (handy if you're upgrading to a new generation chartplotter), and you can even change the chart area if it suits your future plans.

You can view all the Navionics chart areas on the online chart viewer called Web App visit webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#@6&key=_llyHbkQ

With Navionics chart updates and subscription members enjoy peace of mind that they are getting the most from their chart and plotter every time they set sail!

Members can also benefit from a discount on Navigation Planner – the versatile PC software that copies the chart to up to three PC's, provides route planning function with tidal calculations, and becomes a transferrable library of your route data. The many features include:

  • Plan routes on your PC at home, on board or in the office
  • Print a passage plan
  • Select the optimum time to leave based on tidal predictions
  • Back up your routes from your plotter to your PC.
  • Overlay weather data with a subscription to Theyr™
"Navionics is well established as one of the go-to providers of electronic charts and following feedback from our members as to the types of member offers they would like to enjoy, Navionics coming on board as a member reward partner seemed a perfect fit", commented Conor Swift, RYA Membership Development Manager.

"Being able to provide our members with exclusive offers to the kinds of products that really benefit their boating is invaluable and Navionics chart updates fit the bill perfectly."
