The inaugural Aldeburgh 'Festival of Classics' will be held over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of September. Entry is open to Dinghies and Dayboats designed before 1965 and built before 1985 (some dispensations have been granted to local one designs).
With the club's own fleets of Loch Longs and Aldeburgh Lapwings, a great turnout is expected together with visitors from Brightlingsea and members of the CVRDA. It is planned to have 2 races on Saturday and one on Sunday which will allow Dayboats to be craned out after racing.
The club will be open on Friday for early arrivals and in the evening there will be full bar facilities and home made pizza. Saturday night will see a Curry Evening followed by a live band "The Random Blues Company".
Free camping and parking for camper vans will be available at the club. Entry forms, Notice of Race and Sailing Instruction are available on the club website, www.aldeburghyc.org.uk
The club would like to thank event sponsors Marhall Hatchick Solicitors and Demon Yachts for their generous support.
