Crosby Sailing Club held their Annual Hangover Handicap event on 1st January. To the relief of all who turned up the races were going to be held as this event has been blown off for the last three years! The large fleet comprised of mostly Solos, and a lone Topper.
The first race started in Force 3 winds, the fleet made a conservative start and by mid race the race was led by Ian Middleton. But by the finish Richie Allen and Roy White had past him, eight seconds separated these first three Solos.
A welcome barbeque was served to cold sailors.
Race two, saw Ian take the lead by the first mark, and extend it to over a minute by the finish. Roy and Richie followed him home.
Race three was held straight after, and again Ian showed he had now got to grips with his new Boon boat and raced away, closely followed by Roy and then Richie.
The overall winner of the Jeeves Trophy for this year was Ian Middleton, with son James being the first junior in his Topper 4.2 in seventh place.
