Speaking of his winning shot entitled 'Ionian Blue', Colin said: "I am delighted that one of my photos has been chosen for the 2021 ilovesailing calendar. I've supported the RYA and this competition for many years as it always produces spectacular results. I look forward to attending another successful Southampton Boat Show in September and meeting fellow competition winners.
"The photograph was taken motor sailing out of Vassiliki during a late October heatwave in the Ionian. I came across the image during a Covid lockdown trawl through all my sailing photos. I remember the quality of light was extraordinary so I tried to capture the tones of the sea and sky against the mirage-like backdrop of the islands."
While Dan, whose winning shot 'Lasers on the lake', commented: "I'm delighted to have my picture selected for the calendar, I take photos while walking around the marine lake at West Kirby, this one was taken on a warm Tuesday evening in May last year during a laser Fleet race.
"I enjoy taking sunset photos and this one lined up quite nicely so I took a few on the way past. Luckily it turned out very well!"
