The weather may not have delivered but make no mistake, for many of the 7,000 crews that headed out for the 90th anniversary of the Island Sailing Club's Round the Island Race this was a big day out.
It's been two years since we've seen a fleet of this size and for many it was their first chance to race since the global pandemic to a hold.
In fact, this year's race around the Isle of Wight is believed to have been the biggest mass participation event in the UK since the first lockdown last year.
Whatever the reason for taking part, the forecast for overcast skies and light winds were not enough to put off 1,200 teams to take part in one of the biggest races in the world.
