17-19 September 2021
A tricky first day for the HP30 National Championship with super-light airs at the start building to about 12 knots by the finish of racing.
PRO Peter Bateson and his team provided three races for the ten-boat fleet. Glyn Locke's Farr 280 Toucan scored two bullets and a third to finish the first day at the top of the leader board. Jonathan Powell's Farr 280 Peggy is just two points off pole position and Jerry Hill's Farr 280 Moral Compass finished Day One in third place. Top FarEast 28 was Lucian Stone's Vendetta, currently fourth in the rankings.
The HP30 Class National Championship continues Saturday 18 and Sunday 19th September during the Land Union September Regatta organised by the Royal Southern YC. Land Union will be bringing the full flavour of Oktoberfest to the regatta. Saturday evening's entertainment will be complimentary beer, frankfurters, and pretzels. The al fresco Den's Deck will be dressed-up for the occasion and an Oompah Band and DJ will add to the fun. All of the teams racing will enjoy the superb facilities of the Royal Southern Clubhouse located on the Hamble River. The HP30 Class National Champion will be crowned at the prize-giving on Sunday.
