The RYA Affiliated Clubs Conference returns next week and will be better than ever!

Following on from the success of the RYA's first-ever virtual Affiliated Clubs Conference last year, the hybrid 2021 edition kicks off on Monday 8th November with a live online evening hosted by double Olympic gold medallist and broadcaster Shirley Robertson.

With a line up of key speakers and a chance for clubs to connect with each other and RYA expertise, the evening will explore the conference theme of Planning for a Successful Future.

It will also set the scene for a series of in-person regional events then scheduled to take place at venues across the UK over the winter months, which will give club representatives a chance to attend workshops, share ideas and be inspired for the year ahead.

Conference organiser Gareth Brookes, RYA Regional Development Officer Manager, said: "With less than a week to go, committee members, staff and volunteers from sailing clubs nationwide have been signing up for their free ticket to join our online RYA Affiliated Clubs Conference evening from the comfort of their own home or club. And for those who haven't already booked, we've come up with five top reasons why clubs and those who help to run their activities won't want to miss it!"

Gareth says the online RYA Affiliated Clubs Conference evening will enable delegates to:

  • Hear about the latest trends with UNMISSABLE INSIGHTS FOR CLUBS and their ongoing success.
  • Learn from other clubs who have been gaining and retaining members and volunteers to find out HOW OTHER CLUBS DO IT!
  • Discover how RYA expertise and the organisation's Regional and Home Country teams can provide bespoke SUPPORT FOR CLUBS.
  • SHARE IDEAS with the RYA and our incredible network of Affiliated Clubs.
  • CONNECT with other clubs, RYA staff and volunteers over an enjoyable evening.
This FREE event will take place from 8-9pm on Monday 8th November with the Club Support area open for business from 7.30-9.30pm on the same evening.

Even if would-be delegates are unable to attend the live online conference, they are invited to still register as a recording of the session will be available afterwards.

The regional conferences which will follow over winter are also free to attend and can be booked at the same time.
