It was an interesting day, not much wind and a little misty as the competitors gathered, 10 visitors and 33 boats braved the cold conditions. Safety crews were geared up for a two hour pursuit race, dressed up as if they were going to the North Pole.
All boats got away cleanly over the start line, with Richard Instone taking an early lead in his Solo. As the race progressed, the mist turned into fog and unfortunately 1 hour 21 minutes into the race the fog won with the Race Officer abandoning the race on safety grounds.
Even with the race abandoned there was a buzz around the club with soup, sandwich and scotch pie for afters, good to see people enjoying themselves.
