Marnatura wins J/70 Villalia Winter Series- Act II

The second event of the J/70 Villalia Winter Series of Vigo, hosted by Real Club Náutico de Vigo, began with the additions of several top J/70 teams. One was the 2021 J/70 European Champion- Luis Cabiedes's NOTICIA with his crew of Pablo Santurde, Alberto Padrón, and Jon Larrazabal. Other new participants were the Portuguese team SAIL CASCAIS sailed by Vasco Serpa, MARNATURA I with Víctor Mariño and Luis Bugallo on the helm, and Chuny Bermúdez's ABRIL VERDE.

After two days of sailing, it was Bugallo's MARNATURA I that was proclaimed champion of the second act of the J/70 Villalia Winter Series. The light airs weekend only permitted two races to be run. MARNATURA I finished with a 3-1 for 4 pts. Tied with them on points for first was Jorge Perez Canal's ABRIL ROJO team (Eduardo Reguera, Victor Marino, Jose Luis Colmenero, & Pablo Espinosa) with a 1-3, losing the tiebreaker on who won the last race!

Rounding out the podium with the bronze medal was Luis Martin Gutierrez De Cabiedes's NOTICIA with a 6-4 for 10 pts. The balance of the top five includes Gonzalo Araujo Lazare's LA GUARDIA & MOREIRA team (Paula Gonzalez Esteban, Jacobo Vecino Reimundo, Juan Deben, & Gerardo Prego Menor) in 4th and Luis Perez Canal's ABRIL VERDE team (Cesar Torne Vazquez, Juan de Cominges, Carlos San Martin, & Luis Darrocha) in 5th place.

The winter series standings after the two events see Gonzalo Araújo's LA GUARDIA & MOREIRA in first, Jorge Perez Canal's ABRIL ROJO in second, and Sancho Paramo's NACUA SOGACSA in the third position.
