2023 Contender World Championship at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club - Day 2

by Ed Presley 18 Jan 2023 10:04 GMT 16-20 January 2023

Day two of the 50th International Contender World Championship saw light moderate breeze for the first race and a strengthening sea breeze for race two of the day resulting in more spills and thrills for the competitors.

In the light first race new faces appeared at the front with Lindsay Irwin putting down a counter, Mark Bulka remained consistent with another 2nd and Class stalwart John Lindholm starting to find more form in 3rd.

The return of the Doctor in the 2nd race of the day allowed service resume as normal, Matt Mulder frightened the rest with speed to burn, but his performance is always being check by the relentless 2nds of Mark Bulka, good in all weathers. Simon Barwood returned to the podium with a solid 3rd as he continues to rise up the overalls.

Results after Race 3 sees Nationals place getters Mark Bulka and Matt Mulder in the top spots once again.
