MC38 Series Act 3 at Middle Harbour Yacht Club

by Tilly McKnight 15 May 2023 05:23 BST 13-14 May 2023

The third Act of the MC38 2023 season took place over the weekend at Middle Harbour Yacht Club, and it was an exciting event that saw Hooligan emerge as the winner after securing three bullets in the final day's racing.

Saturday's leader, Infotrack Go, put on a strong performance, but the leaderboard was tight and the Act winner was still within reach for any team.

Sunday was a light and variable day, which put the pressure on tactician's who were required to read the conditions more than the boat speed. With continued course changes to accommodate racing, sailors were kept on their toes, but ultimately were able to tuck away three races to close out the Act efficiently.

Overall, Hooligan demonstrated consistency and patience, remaining focused throughout the event, despite some tough competition from other teams.

One challenging team, Infotrack, left little room for Hooligan to make mistakes. Finishing in the top three of each race on Sunday, Infotrack earned a well-deserved second place in the Act'.

"Today we won the last three races and we won, so we're pretty excited about that", said Marcus Blackmore (Hooligan).Great crew, good venue and they put some really good courses in for us today.

Looking ahead, we can expect even more thrilling competitions in the coming months, with the winter racing season just beginning. The MC38 Australian fleet is packed with talent, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for these exceptional sailors.

Congratulations to Hooligan and all the teams who participated. We look forward to the next event in this exciting racing series.
