Saturday May 13th saw two British Schools Dinghy Racing Association (BSDRA) Championships taking place.

At Rutland, the BSDRA Easterns had a forecast that could have swung either way, too windy or not enough. Fortunately for the 100 competitors from 20 teams the wind was great! With 10 Feva and 10 Firefly teams competing there was a fabulous atmosphere both shore side and out on the water.

The wonderful race team were kept busy as they were able to get 98 races under way, umpired and complete!

In the Fireflys there was a RHS Purple who didn't drop a race all day and deservedly won overall with a brilliant display of team racing. Although Oakham Black were 2nd in the round robin, Tonbridge Black got the better of them in the semi-final.

The Feva racing was a much closer contest with Norwich Red and Rutland Yellow finishing the round robin on the same number of wins. Norwich Red fell just short in the semis, with a Rutland Yellow and Rutland Green in the final. Rutland Yellow took the win that rounded off the day.

At Chew Valley Lake SC the BSDRA Westerns managed 79 Races before going to Semis and Finals. The Firefly division was won by the Magdalen College School team of Charlie Merryweather (CPT), Alex Money, Edward White Belcher, Luke Knesevic, Malachi Brown, and Euan Roachwho, who beat Sherbourne in the final.

In the Fevas it was Clares Court who took that division in the dying breeze.
