On Tuesday 16th January, Tim Law was privileged to hand over his Laser / ILCA to the brilliant Antiguan National Sailing Academy situated next to Falmouth Harbour in Antigua.

Tim was helped in being able to make this donation with the support of the Antiguan Government and the incredible generosity of the world renowned shipper, Peters & May, who organised the Laser/ILCA to be transported from the U.K. Munich Re Speciality kindly underwrote the insurance for the voyage.

The Academy has for decades introduced and taught thousands of Antiguans to sail. Sailing is part of the local school curriculum, and many of the students have gone on to achieve great success and, just as importantly, enjoy our fantastic sport.

At the handover Tim said to the Academy General Manager, Alison Sly-Adams:

"It's an absolute privilege to be able to donate my Laser / ILCA to this excellent Academy. I have been made so welcome here every time I have visited over the past few years, and been lent a Laser / ILCA to sail and race against all the young brilliant local sailors, all who have clearly been very well taught and coached both here at the Academy and at the nearby Antigua Yacht Club (AYC).

"Next year will mark my 50th year racing a Laser / ILCA, so hopefully by being able to donate my boat will allow more young people in Antigua to race a Laser / ILCA for maybe another 50 years!

Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to do this and share in such excellence and joy at your Academy on this lovely island of Antigua."
