The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club at Burnham-on-Crouch is getting set to welcome teams for the second qualifier of the 2024 RYA Match Racing Series.

The popular venue has recently refurbished its fleet of 707 keelboats and up to eight teams of 4/5 crew are invited to #rockupandrace over the weekend of 9-10 March 2024.

Teams will be duelling for victory not only for the second round of the Series but could also win a place in the RYA National Match Racing Grand Finals at the end of the season.

The Notice of Race is available and entry is open online.

Nick Milton from the club said: "The 707s have been refitted and are ready to go and we're looking forward to welcoming both experienced and new teams for another round of the RYA Match Racing Series.

"For the last couple of years we've been able to take advantage of a largely empty river to have racing close to the club, which creates spectator interest but also gives people a chance to warm up if the weather is 'fresh' !! If you haven't already entered, sign up and get set for a fun and sociable weekend of match racing!"

Royal Corinthian Yacht Club's Edwin Buckley will be PRO and there will be support available for those new to match racing.

Sailors are invited to enjoy the club's bistro meals on the Friday and Saturday evenings with panoramic views of the river from the club. The bar and kitchen will be open all weekend providing meals, refreshments, snacks and grab-and-go sandwiches.

The club has a limited number of rooms available and a list of local accommodation to support teams looking for somewhere to stay, and even has a field available for those hardier souls with tents or campervans.

Enter now and for further information, or to book the bistro, accommodation, or camping, contact the RCYC Office by emailing or calling 01621 782105.
