After a slight delay, things are now really getting going in Europe after America and Australia: a full schedule, new boats, booming class associations...

With a total of 11 class regattas and two major sailing events, 2024 will be THE summer in Europe for one of the most successful newcomer classes in the world: the VX ONE.

Be part of the two biggest VX ONE events of the year:

VX One International European Open 2024

  • Fri 7/26: exclusive Bavarian dinner in the mountain restaurant including the ride with the cable
  • Sat 7/27: big barbecue with live music at the sailing club
  • Sun 7/28: from 5 pm award ceremony

The Club

The SCLW e.V. has many years of experience in organizing german and international championships and can offer the class a solid platform for the realization of such an event. References of the last years would be e.g. the IDM of the Contenders in 2017, the IDM of the 505s in 2018 or the ILCA Masters 2022.

The small club runs its events completely on its own and impresses with its friendly, hearty nature, its great ambience and, of course, its excellent wind conditions. The sailing infrastructure includes a harbour bay, three slip facilities and a modern crane system. Water moorings are reserved on the jetty for the VX ONE.

The catering team offers a rich breakfast buffet every morning, during the day there are cakes, cold and warm snacks, dinner is included in the entry fee. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available.

The Area

Located about 75 km south of Munich, in the midst of the Bavarian Pre-Alps, Lake Walchen, with a maximum depth of 192 meters, is one of the deepest and, at 16.4 square kilometres, also one of the largest alpine lakes in Germany. The lake is located at an altitude of 802 meters above sea level and about 27 kilometres of shore surround the mountain lake embedded between forested mountains. The surrounding low mountain range, which begins directly on the southern shore, allows for optimal solar radiation, so that the micro-climate of the lake is milder than would normally be expected at this altitude. Gradient winds tend to be negligible there, but in the summer months when the weather is sunny, the warming of the mountains to the south creates thermals popular with windsurfers, kiters and sailors. The narrow pass in the north of the lake becomes a nozzle, and the wind spreads out over the lake in a fan shape with average wind forces between 3 and 5 Beaufort. Perfect conditions for the VX ONE.

VX One Garda Gold Cup 2024

Date: 1st - 4th of August 2024

Experiences in Campione is nothing but the best! Both the sailing infrastructure and the people at the Univela Campione Club are first class, you couldn't ask for more:

- absolutely spectacular and exclusive location under a cliff of Lake Garda - wonderful grounds with plenty of space for boat, trailer and towing vehicle - 20m wide slip ramp and large crane.

- parking space for car and trailer on the grounds next to the boat - 9 meter high repair hangar for work on the rigged boat - Good restaurant and hotel, full of friendly and smiling staff Campione itself is a crazy place, somewhere between a water sports center and a lost place - an absolute insider tip without tourists. Typical Lake Garda entertainment with a lakeside promenade, handbags and shoes can be found 15 minutes away in Limone or (by ferry) Malcesine. Apart from water sports, Campione offers everything you need for a successful vacation in Italy: a piazza with a bar and ice cream parlor, a nationally popular seafood restaurant and a good starting point for hiking, cycling or climbing.
