Following the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in late May, the remainder of the boat show season is getting into full swing over the next couple of months.

Two weeks ago, the Sydney International Boat Show was successfully delivered by Mulpha Events on behalf of BIA Ltd. The fast-approaching BIAWA's Club Marine Perth Boat Show will take place at the Perth Convention Centre from 6-8 September. The 62nd Melbourne Boat Show takes place 17-20 October in Docklands, in Melbourne's CBD. All advertised exhibitor space for this event has been sold, so BIAV have secured further waterfront space and an extra marina. These waterfront sites and on-water berths are filling fast so if you haven't secured your site yet, please contact ASAP. Don't miss your chance to be part of this premier event.

Whittley Marine Group, Australia's leading trailerable sports cruiser boat manufacturer, announces a sale event on the new Limited-Edition Heritage CR 2800 SD model and exclusive unveiling at this year's Perth Boat Show. This Limited-Edition model will be allocated to the next ten builds to be produced at the Whittley Factory in Melbourne of the popular CR 2800. The new release CR 2800 SD model edition will feature a signed timber plaque by designer Steven Whittley and is your chance to secure a piece of Australian boat building history and a true collector's item in years to come.

The Sydney International Boat Show has concluded with extraordinary success for Eyachts, marking a pivotal moment the company as they continue to solidify their positions in the Australian boating market. The event, which took place 1-4 August, showcased a stunning array of vessels that captivated attendees, driving strong brand recognition and interest. Eyachts stole the spotlight at the Sydney Boat Show, with an impressive lineup that underscored their leadership in the adventure boats, dayboats and electric boating markets. The Axopar 29 Sun Top and the new Axopar 45 range, featuring both the Sun Top and Cross Cabin variants, attracted significant attention from visitors, affirming Eyachts' reputation for innovation and adventure on the water.

The Sydney Show proved to be a landmark event for TMG Yachts, with the company's display drawing large crowds and generating unprecedented interest. The success of the show underscored the strong market presence of both PRESTIGE Luxury Motor Yachts and Lagoon Catamarans and the growing demand for their innovative and high-quality vessels.

Industry Awards are always prevalent at this time of the year. There were a number of exhibitor awards at Sydney with some amazing displays all round. The 2024 winners: Best Small Stand Display - Rayglass Boat. Best Hall Display - Malibu Boats. Best Marina Display - Short Marine. Best Overall Display - Yamaha Motor Australia. The Stand Awards are designed to celebrate exhibitors who excel in engaging visitors and showcasing the boating experience, enhancing the Show and visitor experience.

On NSW, Marine Rescue Eden Deputy Unit Commander and Radio Operator Nancy Weatherman has been crowned Marine Rescue NSW's Officer of the Year at the prestigious Rotary Districts of NSW Emergency Services Community Awards (RESCA) which were held at Bankstown Sports Club, 10 August. Ms Weatherman was presented the honour and supported by fellow Marine Rescue NSW finalists, Merimbula Deputy Unit Commander and Coxswain Sonia Teston, Port Jackson Training Systems Officer Kelli Jovanovski, Port Macquarie Coxswain and Maintenance Manager David Bigeni (BA-GENIE) and Youth Scholarship finalist Port Jackson's Sophie Baker.

Despite the cool weather experienced across the state last month, Marine Rescue NSW was in demand with volunteers completing 242 search and rescue missions, including 81 emergency responses. Marine Rescue NSW Commissioner Alex Barrell said the skill and dedication displayed by the Service's 3,400 volunteers meant hundreds of boaters were safely returned to shore in July.

An interesting article on antifouling reached us this week. What is the future of antifoul technology in a world demanding increasingly environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions? Boatyards have a valuable role to play preserving the purity of our beautiful waterways. Many of us are uncertain about the performance of new, sustainable hull protection systems, and the governing regulation changes that are inevitable. Do these new products provide longer protection, and reduce the number of boatyard visits? Boatyard operators need to be agile, step up to challenges, explore new products and stay on the front foot for all important regulatory changes that will affect the availability of conventional antifouls.
