Vendée Globe Tuesday Morning Update - Yoann Richomme powers into the lead

by Mark Jardine 17 Dec 07:40 GMT 17 December 2024

It is extraordinary that after 13,000 nautical miles sailed in the Vendée Globe, just a few miles separate Yoann Richomme on Paprec Arkéa and Charlie Dalin on MACIF Santé Prévoyance. The two skippers are engaged in a match race with the Pacific Ocean as their playground.

The battle behind the top three is as tight as ever, with under 200 nautical miles between Nico Lunven in fourth and Boris Herrmann in tenth.

We bring you an update from Hungarian skipper Szabolcs Weöres on New Europe who has been forced to retire due to damage to a D2 shroud, an update from Boris Herrmann, the latest tracking and leaderboard and PredictWind routing options, as well as an update from Kojiro Shiraishi.
