Vendée Globe Saturday 25th January Update - A Flurry of Finishers

by Mark Jardine 25 Jan 08:02 GMT 25 January 2025

After Jérémie Beyou finished the Vendée Globe in fourth place, Paul Meilhat arrives in Les Sables d'Olonne soon after in fifth, with Nico Lunven sixth on Friday evening, and now Thomas Ruyant arriving in seventh early on Saturday morning.

We bring you finish highlights of Jérémie Beyou and Paul Meilhat, as well as an interview with Meilhat, then an update from Nico Lunven while he was crossing a difficult Bay of Biscay, and a tired Sam Goodchild at Cape Finisterre, then Boris Herrmann, who's target was to finish on Friday, but still has over a thousand nautical miles to go.

We then look at the Tracker, Leaderboard and PredictWind routing options for Romain Attanasio in 14th, who is leading a group taking a more western option that the leaders did.

We conclude with an update from Oliver Heer.
