Vendée Globe Sunday 26th January Update - More finishers, but a huge storm ahead for Sam and Boris

by Mark Jardine 26 Jan 08:12 GMT 26 January 2025

With Nico Lunven finishing sixth on Friday evening Vendée Globe, Thomas Ruyant, Justine Mettraux and Sam Goodchild all finished on Saturday.

We bring you finish highlights and dockside comments from Nico, Justine and Sam.

On the water we bring you updates from Boris Herrmann as he prepares for a massive North Atlantic storm, Jingkun Xu who has to climb the mast, and Conrad Colman who plugs a leak.

We then look at the Tracker, Leaderboard and PredictWind routing options for Sam Davies as she makes her way north into the huge storm, which looks set to throw winds of over 50 knots across the Bay of Biscay.

We conclude with an update from Kojiro Shiraishi as he approaches the Equator.
