Vendée Globe Thursday 6th February Update - Kojiro's big decision

Eleven skippers are still racing in the Vendée Globe so there is still news to report on the race!

We give you an update on Arnaud Boissières from La Mie Câline after he was dismasted, showing his progress towards the Caribbean, then Kojiro Shiraishi tells us why he made a big routing decision as he heads east towards Les Sables d'Olonne.

We then look at the tracker, then conclude with an update from Oliver Heer.

We'll continue bringing you news from the race, but it may be less frequent as we get fewer updates from the sailors.

Completing his fifth successful Vendée Globe this morning Legendary French ocean racing veteran Jean Le Cam completed his fifth successful Vendée Globe solo round the world race at the age of 65 this Tuesday morning when he crossed the finish line off Les Sables d'Olonne in 20th position at 03 53 02 hrs UTC. Crossing the finish line at 2328 UTC on 3 February Isabelle Joschke crossed the Vendée Globe finish line in 19th position, after 85 days, 11hrs & 26 mins of racing. It was something of a bittersweet moment for Roura as he took his finish gun. Today the Swiss skipper Alan Roura, at the age of just 31, completed his third consecutive Vendée Globe. The solo skipper of HUBLOT crossed the line off Les Sables d'Olonne at 11:57.48 hrs to take 18th place in an elapsed time of 84 days 23hrs 55 mins.
