Sail TV licensed by Alcatel-Lucent to show the 32nd America’s Cup
Sail TV, the World's internet sailing TV channel, is pleased to announce that it will be broadcasting coverage of the 32nd America's Cup in Valencia online through a deal with Alcatel-Lucent, the Official New Media Provider for the event. Coverage of the event will be available on our Sail.TV viewer on a 24/7 basis.
Starting from Valencia Louis Vuitton Act 13 on April 3rd, and continuing right through to the end of America’s Cup, Sail TV plans to feature short daily Video News Release updates, and will be showing delayed, embargoed broadcasts of the official TV highlights shows, plus live images from around the venue, together with specially produced content that will be exclusive to the channel. All of this will be available as ‘Video-on-demand’ and scheduled programming.
Sail TV Managing Director Andrew Steward said, “We’re delighted to be showing the 32nd America’s Cup on Sail.TV, as it shows the tremendous progress the channel has made in the past year. Generally we offer live programming, video-on-demand, and of course a normal TV schedule for our ever growing viewership. This arrangement for the 32nd America’s Cup coverage, strengthens and reinforces our reputation and position within the sport, as the essential ‘go to’ TV channel for sailing internationally, and we’re very much looking forward to bringing our viewers the most prestigious sailing event in the sport over the coming months.”
Due to pre-existing arrangements, Sail TV will not be allowing broadcasts into Canada, New Zealand, Spain or Italy, which will be blocked to viewers from these countries.
