Nearly 50 boats have so far entered the biggest sailing event on the East Coast this summer.
The popular BP-backed East Coast Sailing Week has attracted enthusiasts from as far south as Whitby in Yorkshire and northwards to the Moray Firth.
It's the first time the popular week has been held in the Firth of Forth for three years. And the event features seven races plus a packed social programme from Sunday, July 18.
Feeder races include overnight events organised by the Royal Tay Yacht Club, Dundee, the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club of Blyth and Forth Corinthian Yacht Club, Edinburgh, starting on Friday, July 16. Day feeder races from Port Edgar and Dunbar are on Saturday, July 17.
The annual event has been held in either the Tay, the Forth or off the North-East coast since 1987.
Fiona Brown, press officer, said: "Although fiercely competitive on the water, this is one of the friendliest sailing events in the British water sports calendar.
"The event caters for the racing enthusiast and also the family cruiser and the week will provide a great spectacle to view from the waterfront of the Capital city."
The East Coast Sailing Week is organised this summer by the Forth Yacht Clubs Association which includes more than 20 clubs based on the river. Mrs Brown added: "The entries close on Sunday (July 11) and we are encouraged to see so many quality crews involved.
"This promises to be a really exciting event and one in which some close racing is in prospect."
