405 Spring Championship at Northampton Sailing Club

There were warm southerly breezes for the 10 boats competing in this event.

The championship was dominated by the team of Nick Ward and Tom Wright from the Staughton Harold Club who won all but one of the 8 races so Rebecca Kilburn and Matt Bath from Notts County were delighted to finish in front of them once to win race 5.

Behind the champions the teams of Rosie White/Geetika Kumar from the Nottingham University Club and Sophie Tuckwood/Holly Jones from Notts County each claimed a number of 2nd and 3rd places with the University Club pair just finishing ahead. They also won the best girls team trophy while Stuart Selly and Tom Humphreys from Rydal won the junior trophy.

A nail biting finish This year the 405 end of seasons produced a nail biting finish. There were eight races held over two days, in shifty winds that ranged from a force two to a force five, conditions that brought out the best from all the youth and junior competitors. 12 race at Staunton Harold Twelve 405s including 4 home boats took part in the End Of Seasons regatta at Staunton Harold Sailing Club on the 5th and 6th Nov.
