Following the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) the renewed Medemblik Regatta, that was planned for 4-7 June 2020 is now cancelled.

The rebirth of this sailing spring classic will take place in 2021, the exact date is still to be decided. The decision was taken in close consultation with World Sailing as a measure to help fight the Corona Covid-19 pandemic.

"This is not the moment"

CEO of the Dutch Sailing (Watersportverbond) Arno van Gerven said: "The decision was taken in recognition of the global outbreak of the Corina virus. This is not the moment to continue planning and organising an international sports event, while the world battles this pandemic."
